WHO WE ARE
VIA de CRISTO is a Spanish phrase which means "WAY of CHRIST." It is based on the fundamentals of the Christian faith, concentrating on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, our Lord and Savior who died on the cross and rose again. However, the focus is not on VIA de CRISTO itself, but on the local church. The objective of the movement is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches and communities.
We are affiliated with the National Lutheran Secretariat of VIA de CRISTO , which includes many communities throughout the U.S. and in several foreign countries.
VIA de CRISTO begins with a highly structured three-day weekend typically beginning on a Thursday evening and continuing until Sunday evening. The weekend is designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people and to bring them to a new awareness of living in God's grace. Check out events for a more thorough description of the weekend.
VIA de CRISTO is a combined effort of lay people and clergy toward renewal of the church.
